What this tool does

The LLC Cost Calculator estimates what it costs to start and maintain an LLC. It combines your state's filing and annual fees with the optional services you choose — like a registered agent, EIN help, an operating agreement, a virtual address, or bookkeeping — into a clear first-year and ongoing annual estimate.

How results are calculated

We add your state's one-time filing fee to any recurring annual fee, then layer in the typical cost of each service you select. Required items are marked separately from optional ones so you can see the true minimum. Non-US founders automatically include a registered agent, since they can't serve as their own.

Important limitations

These are educational estimates using typical fees and prices. Actual costs vary by provider and change over time — always confirm the current filing fee on your official state website before filing.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on your state and the services you choose. State filing fees in our data range from about $50 to $300, plus optional costs like a registered agent (~$125/year), EIN help, and an operating agreement. The calculator estimates both first-year and ongoing annual costs.
